ABELSoft Corporation is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains data collection and use practices of the ABELSoft.com, ABELMed.com, ABELDent.com and SampleDentalWebSite.com Web sites only, it does not apply to other online or offline ABELSoft sites, products or services. By accessing the above named web sites, you are consenting to the information collection and use practices described in this privacy policy.

We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you to provide a service or carry out a transaction that you have requested such as receiving information about ABELSoft products and services, ordering e-mail newsletters, joining a limited-access premium site or service, signing up for an event or training, or when purchasing, downloading and/or registering ABELSoft products. The personal information we collect may include your name, title, company or organization name, business e-mail, business phone, business or home address, information about your job function, information about your company, and credit card information.

Our sites may collect certain information about your visit, such as the name of the Internet service provider and the Internet Protocol (IP) address through which you access the Internet; the date and time you access the sites; the pages that you access while at the sites and the Internet address of the Web sites from which you linked directly to our sites. This information is used to help improve the sites, analyze trends and administer the sites. Some of our sites collect information about your hardware and software in order to provide a requested software update. For example, we may need to know information about your computer in order to recommend the operating system required to run an updated version of our software.

We do not sell, exchange, or release the personal information (name, email address, etc.) without your consent, regardless of its source, to any third parties.
The personal information collected on the above named sites will be used to operate the sites and to provide the service(s) or carry out the transaction(s) you have requested or authorized.

ABELSoft may use personal information to:

provide you with important information about the product or service that you are using, including critical updates and notifications,
provide you with more effective customer service, to improve the sites and any related ABELSoft products or services, or  
make the sites easier to use by eliminating the need for you to repeatedly enter the same information.

When you sign up for a newsletter or agree to receive promotional e-mail, ABELSoft.com may use customized links or similar technologies to track e-mail links that you click. We may associate that information with your personal information in order to provide you more focused e-mail communications or purchase information. Each e-mail communication includes an unsubscribe link allowing you to stop delivery of that type of communication.

ABELSoft occasionally hires other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, such as packaging and mailing information about our products, special offers, and other services. We will only provide those companies the personal information they need to deliver the service. ABELSoft will send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or people when we:

have your consent to share the information,
need to share your information to provide the service you have requested,
respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process, or
find that your actions on our web sites violate the terms of service or any of our Guidelines the use of specific products or services.
We limit collection of personal information to that necessary for the purposes identified before and we do not store or gather information through the use of cookies.

Except as otherwise described in this policy, personal information that you provide on the sites will not be shared outside of ABELSoft Corporation and its controlled subsidiaries and affiliates without your permission. As described in the section below, you can access your personal information and make choices about how you wish to be contacted.

Please be aware that this privacy policy and any choices you make on the sites will not necessarily apply to personal information that you have provided to ABELSoft in the context of other, separately operated, ABELSoft products or services.

ABELSoft Corporation may send out periodic e-mails to inform you of technical service or security issues related to a product or service that you requested, or to confirm that you requested a product or service. In some cases, contact with the customer is an intrinsic part of the service that we provide. You will not be able to choose to unsubscribe to these e-mails, as they are considered an essential part of the service(s) you have chosen.

You can review and edit the personal information that you give to us by logging into the ABELSoft site(s) that you are registered on. You will be prompted to enter your ID and password before being granted access to your personal information. If you have questions or concerns about your personal information, you may ABELSoft Corporation as described at the bottom of this policy.

ABELSoft is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we use 128-bit encryption and store your personal information in password-protected databases that are not open to public access and that are also protected by Microsoft Windows security safeguards.

The above mentioned sites are intended for the use of health care professionals. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Visitors to the above mentioned sites have the option to complete a registration form in order to access information that is not displayed to unregistered visitors.  Registered members can then log in to the site at any time using the e-mail address and a password entered on their registration form.

ABELSoft abides by the principles of the PERSONAL INFORMATION PROTECTION AND ELECTRONIC DOCUMENTS ACT, provided below:

1. Accountability
Principle 1 states that an organization would be responsible for personal information under its control and would have to designate an individual or individuals who were accountable for the organization’s compliance with the following principles.

2. Identifying Principles
The purposes for which personal information was collected would have to be identified by the organization at or before the time the information was collected.

3. Consent
The knowledge and consent of the individual would be required for the collection, use or disclosure of personal information, except where this was inappropriate.
 
4. Limiting Collection
The collection of personal information would have to be limited to that necessary for the purposes identified by the organization. Information would be required to be collected by fair and lawful means.

5. Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention
Principle 5 states that personal information could not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by the law. The Principle also states that personal information could be retained only as long as was necessary for fulfillment of those purposes.

It is noted that the statement above referring to use or disclosure would be subject to override by clause 7(4) and (5) of Part 1, whereby an organization could use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, and which are set out in clause 7(2) and (3).

6. Accuracy
Personal information would have to be as accurate, complete and up-to-date as was necessary for the purposes for which it was to be used.

7. Safeguards
Personal information would have to be protected by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
 
8. Openness
An organization would be required to make specific information about its policies and practices relating to the management of personal information readily available to individuals.
 
9. Individual Access
Upon request, an individual would have to be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of his or her personal information and be given access to that information. The individual would have the right to challenge its accuracy and completeness and have it amended as appropriate.
 
10. Challenging Compliance
An individual would be able to address a challenge concerning compliance with the above principles to the designated individual or individuals accountable for the organization’s compliance.
